GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE AUTHORITY AND ITS PUBLIC INFORMATION

a) INFORMATION ON HOW THE AUTHORITY IS ORGANISED

Brief description of the authority’s field of work:

The Institute for Water carries out the following tasks:

  1. research and development activities in the field of natural sciences and technology,
  2. technical testing and analysis,
  3. expert tasks related to the formulation of water management plans,
  4. expert tasks related to the determination of ecologically acceptable flows and other tasks related to the issuing of water rights and the issuing of water permits,
  5. expert tasks related to the determination of boundaries of water and offshore land,
  6. expert tasks related to the definition of parcels of waterside land,
  7. other activities in accordance with the founding act.

The more detailed definition and stipulated scope of the tasks referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be provided for in the Institute for Water’s annual programme of tasks, which shall be drawn up by the ministry.

  2. Access to public information is possible at the seat of the IWRS by making an appointment with the Public Information Officer.
  3. If the IWRS incurs costs in the transmission of public information, the IWRS shall charge such costs to the applicant on the basis of Articles 18, 19 and 20 of the Decree on Communication and Re-Use of Information of Public Character.
