Accessibility Statement

The Institute for Water of the Republic of Slovenia is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Slovenian Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications (Official Gazette of the RS, Nos. 30/18, 95/21 – ZInfV-A, 189/21 – ZDU-1M and 18/23 – ZDU-1O; hereinafter ZDSMA), which transposes Directive (EU) 2016/2102. This accessibility statement applies to the website www.izvrs.si.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the ZDSMA and the standard SIST EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (WCAG 2.1, level AA) due to the exceptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

Non-compliance with the ZDSMA

  • PDF documents in the Catalogue of Public Information: scanned documents without a text layer (annual reports 2019–2022, work programmes 2018–2020, quality policy) received a text layer (optical character recognition), a document title and a document language on 2 September 2026, so they can be read with a screen reader and searched. Digitally signed documents (work programmes 2020–2024) are kept in their original signed form and are not yet structurally tagged. Full structural tagging (PDF/UA) of all documents is in progress according to the schedule and will be completed by 31 December 2026. In the meantime, you can request any document in an accessible format through the feedback mechanism below.
  • Images in archived news items published before the website was rebuilt (August 2026) do not yet all have complete alternative text. Alternative texts are being added progressively; completion is planned for 31 December 2026.

Content outside the scope of the ZDSMA

  • Office file formats (PDF, DOC, PPT) published before 23 September 2018 that are not needed for active administrative processes (for example archived invitations, notices and event materials).
  • Third-party content that is neither funded, developed nor controlled by the Institute (the embedded Google Maps map on the Contact page; a text description of the route is provided next to the map).

Display adjustment tool

A display adjustment tool (larger text, wider spacing, contrast, link highlighting, pausing animations, readable font) is available via the button in the bottom right corner of every page. The tool complements, but does not replace, the technical accessibility of the website, which is implemented directly in the page code.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 2 September 2026 on the basis of a self-assessment by the Institute and a review carried out by an external contractor. The review comprised automated testing (axe-core 4.10 against WCAG 2.1 A and AA criteria) and manual testing of keyboard navigation, visible focus, heading and landmark structure, colour contrast, 200 % and 400 % zoom, content reflow and the accessibility tree used by screen readers. The statement was last reviewed on 2 September 2026 and is updated at least once a year or after major changes to the website.
