Development of river fish based ecological status assessment and classification methods in hydroecoregions Dinarids and Po Lowland; definition of river fish types

Določitev ribjih tipov vodotokov hidroekoregij

With the aim for ecological status assessment method development in Slovenia according to Water Framework Directive river fish types in hydroecoregions Dinarids and Po Lowland were defined. We defined fish types based on fish assemblages’ similarity. The characterization of fish assemblages (fish types) is the basis for defining reference conditions and developing fish based ecological status assessment method. The task was performed in cooperation with Fisheries Research Institute of Slovenia.

Remote sensing of large river hydromorphological characteristics and impact assessment on biotic communities

The project’s aim is to identify and compare impacts of different stressors (hydromorphological alterations, pollution, land use), acting on different spatial scales (reach, segment, catchment), on benthic macroinvertebrate and fish communities in Slovenian large rivers, as well as to analyse the comparability between field survey and remote sensing based hydromorphological...
